"The Starr Report" has learned that veteran actor Richard Crenna is joining the cast of "Judging
Amy" for a two-episode arc airing during May sweeps.
Crenna will play the love interest of Maxine Gray (Tyne Daly), who plays Amy's (Amy Brenneman) no-nonsense mom.
Crenna has already shot the first episode and is currently in production for the second installment.
"Judging Amy" was judged Favorite New Series Sunday night during the TV Guide Awards.
"Amy" has beaten timeslot competitor "NYPD Blue" in terms of total viewers several times since
the two shows began going head-to-head.
