The Starr Report: Ape over 'Simian'

"Judging Amy" star Tyne Daly is among the stars headlining the best movie you've never seen.

Industry types are buzzing about Daly's role as a psychic in "The Simian Line," directed by Linda Yellen and co-produced by Montel Williams. Shot in 12 days in Weehawken, N.J., "Line" encompasses four divergent couples and their interaction during a Halloween party.

Also attending the dinner is daffy psychic Arnita (Daly), who spots two invisible spirits (Samantha Mathis, William Hurt) and also predicts one of the couples will break up by year's end -- casting a pall over the party and the guests' lives.

"The Simian Line," which needs a distributor, also stars Lynn Redgrave, Jamey Sheridan, Cindy Crawford, Harry Connick Jr., William Hurt and Eric Stoltz.

The movie is being screened tonight in Richard Brown's "Movies 101" class.
