Feminist Majority Foundation Hosts Womens Empowerment Expo

The Feminist Majority Foundation and over 400 co-sponsors from all
over the United States and from every region of the world, including
renowned feminist leaders, politicians, scholars, authors, activists,
celebrities, entertainers, writers and musicians, will host Feminist
Expo 2000 For Women's Empowerment to share strategies and fuel the
women's movement, its ideas and vision for the future.
WHO:
Thousands of feminists from around the world, over 493 national
and global women's organizations from 62 countries and scores of
campus delegations will come together at Feminist Expo 2000. This
historic event will bring together feminists from every sector of
society -- media, law, medicine and health care, arts, politics,
business, e-commerce, technology, education, public service, trade
unions, non-profits' services, sports, entertainment, advocacy,
religion and philanthropy. Featured speakers include Eleanor Smeal,
Gloria Steinem, Patricia Ireland, Kate Michelman, Senators Barbara
Boxer and Barbara Mikulski, Congresswomen Tammy Baldwin, Patsy Mink
and Carolyn Maloney, Lieutenant Governor Kathleen Kennedy Townsend,
Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun, Laura Dern, Tyne Daly, Dar Williams,

Feminist Expo 2000, the first coming-together of the feminist
movement in the 21st century, will be the largest strategic gathering

Feminist Expo 2000 will feature four general assemblies; 350
speakers, celebrities and entertainers; 100 symposia, roundtables and
training sessions; and an innovative Exhibit Hall in the theme of
"Visualizing a Feminist Future."
