CBS Renews Eight Shows

Receiving 24-episode orders for next season are Monday comedies EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND, THE KING OF QUEENS and BECKER and Tuesday dramas JAG and JUDGING AMY, along with TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, WALKER, TEXAS RANGER and NASH BRIDGES.

CBS's Monday comedy block has emerged as one of network television's signature comedy nights with the continued growth of EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND, THE KING OF QUEENS and BECKER.

In its fourth season, EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND continues to post dramatic year-to-year gains in households, viewers and key demographics. Despite its competitive time period, RAYMOND is Monday's top-rated entertainment program, averaging 11.5/17 in households (up +6%), 17.17 million viewers (+9%), 6.1/15 in adults 18-49 (+13%) and 7.2/16 in adults 25-54 (+14%) from last year. EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND is produced by Worldwide Pants Incorporated and HBO Independent Productions. Phil Rosenthal, Stu Smiley and Rory Rosegarten are the executive producers.

In its second season, THE KING OF QUEENS has flourished in its new Monday lead-off position, winning its time period in households (8.9/14), viewers (13.24m), adults 18-49 (4.7/13, up +34% from a year ago) and adults 25-54 (5.5/14, up +28%). THE KING OF QUEENS is produced by Hanley Productions, Inc. and CBS Productions, in association with Columbia TriStar Television. Michael J. Weithorn is the executive producer.

BECKER, also in its sophomore season, is CBS's second highest rated program among adults 18-49 (after "Raymond" ), averaging a 5.2/12, +11% improvement over last season. BECKER is also up versus last year in households 10.5/16 (+6%), viewers (15.24m, up +9%) and adults 25-54 (6.3/14, +11%). BECKER is produced by Dave Hackel Productions and Industry Entertainment, in association with Paramount Network Television. Dave Hackel is the executive producer.

Now in its fourth season on CBS, JAG is averaging a 10.0/16 and 14.61 million viewers. Compared to last season, JAG is up +5% in adults 18-49 (4.0/11) and +4% in adults 25-54 (5.3/13). During the February Sweep, JAG scored its highest CBS ratings in adults 18-49 (5.0/13) and adults 25-54 (6.5/15) despite competition from "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire." JAG is produced by Belisarius Productions, in association with Paramount Network Television. Donald Bellisario is the executive producer.

In its freshman season, JUDGING AMY has emerged as the top-rated new drama of the year, averaging 10.2/17 in households and 14.09 million viewers. JUDGING AMY has outperformed competing high profile Tuesday dramas "NYPD Blue" and "Once and Again." JUDGING AMY is produced by Barbara Hall/Joseph Stern Productions, in association with Twentieth Century Fox Television and CBS Productions. Barbara Hall, Joseph Stern, Amy Brenneman and Connie Tavel are the executive producers.

NASH BRIDGES, in its fifth season, is CBS's highest rated program on Friday in households (7.7/14), viewers (11.59m), adults 18-49 (3.9/12) and adults 25-54 (4.7/13). NASH BRIDGES is produced by the Don Johnson Company and Carlton Cuse Productions, in association with Paramount Network Television. Don Johnson and Carlton Cuse are the executive producers.

In its eighth season, WALKER, TEXAS RANGER still reigns as Saturday's highest-rated program in households (8.0/15), viewers (12.23m) and women 25-54 (4.7/13). WALKER is produced by Amadea Film Productions, Inc., in association with CBS Productions. Chuck Norris and Aaron Norris are the executive producers.

TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, in its sixth season, is the second highest rated drama on network television, averaging a time period winning 11.8/18 in households and 17.5 million viewers. TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL is produced by CBS Productions, in association with Moonwater Productions, Inc. Martha Williamson is executive producer.
