Stanley Donen & James Newton Howard Honored at the 2000 ASCAP Film & TV Music Awards

On April 25 Legendary Film Director Stanley Donen and Composer
James Newton Howard will be honored at the fifteenth annual
ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards dinner. James will be
receiving ASCAP's prestigious Henry Mancini Award in a stunning
ceremony. Stanley Donen will receive ASCAP's Opus Award.
Confirmed presenters and performers will be Marilyn Bergman,
Lawrence Kasdan, Kathleen Kennedy & Frank Marshall, Angie
Dickenson, Tyne Daly and Larry Gelbart. Also attending will be
Sydney Pollack, John Williams, Leiber & Stoller, Hal David,
Livingston & Evans, Mark Isham, Elmer Bernstein, Alan
Silvestri, Marc Shaiman and The Tories to name a few others.
Newton Howard has composed scores for such films as the soon to be released "Dinosaur," "The Sixth Sense," "My Best
Friend's Wedding," "The Fugitive," "Primal Fear" and "Runaway Bride" as well as the theme to TV's "ER" to name a few.
Donen's great musical achievements in film include "Singin' In the Rain," "On The Town," "Royal Wedding," "Funny Face,"
"Seven Brides for Seven Brothers," "Pajama Game" and "Charade."
