THE STARR REPORT
By MICHAEL STARR
It's been quite a year for "Judging Amy."
Not only has the CBS freshman drama, starring Amy Brenneman and Tyne Daly, threatened "NYPD Blue's"
Tuesday-night dominance, but it's been critically lauded.
Now, another kudo: The Social Issues Award 2000, presented to the show by the National Association of Social
Workers.
Daly and "JA" executive producer Joe Stern accepted the award, presented to individuals and entities
who've made "an exceptional contribution toward generating increased understanding and realistic awareness of
social issues."
In the show, Daly plays a social worker (and Brenneman's mom).
