'Amy,' 'Blue' locked in a numbers battle
New York Post - February 2, 2001
THE STARR REPORT
By MICHAEL STARR
There's an interesting Tuesday-night race
going on between "Judging Amy" and "NYPD
Blue" - just as both shows are featuring
romances going in opposite directions.
Tuesday's "Amy" beat "Blue" in total
households (10.3 million to 9.6 million) -
yet "Blue" snagged more viewers (14 million
to "Amy's" 13.6 million). Don't ask.
On "Blue," Russell (Kim Delaney) and
Sorenson (Rick Schroder) have cooled their
romance. But over on "Amy," Amy (Amy
Brenneman) has romanced not only her
daughter's karate instructor, but now past
love Tom Gillette (Gregory Harrison). Not
bad, considering Brenneman is pregnant and
due in March.
