Vice-depiction Prism noms announced
Awards fete accurate portrayals of drug, alcohol use

"City of God," "Thirteen," "21 Grams," "Wonderland" and
"Love and Diane" will compete for the Entertainment Industries Council's top
Prism prize for theatrical feature film at the eighth annual Prism Awards on
April 29.
The list of 100 nominees for the kudocast, to be held at the Hollywood
Palladium, were announced Tuesday. Show will be televised May 16 on the FX
Network.
Prisms fete the accurate depiction of drug, alcohol and tobacco use and
addiction in movies, television, video, music, interactive and comicbook
entertainment.
Benicio Del Toro ("21 Grams"), Holly Hunter ("Thirteen") and Dylan McDermott
("Wonderland") are among those nominated in the thesp pool.
As for the studio/production shingle count, 20th Century Fox leads the way
with 11 nominations. Others nominated include Paramount (nine), Universal
(eight), Warner Bros. (six) plus David E. Kelley Prods. and Steven Bochco
Prods. (three each).
Nommed for two each are Lions Gate, Carsey-Werner-Mandabach, Wolf Films,
Greenblatt-Janollari, John Wells Prods., Hallmark Entertainment, LMNO
Prods., Acme Prods. and Tannenbaum; Miramax has one nom.
Lifetime led the networks with 11 nominations, followed by ABC (nine); NBC
(eight); CBS and E! Entertainment (six each); Discovery (four); HBO, MTV and
Showtime (three each); UPNUPN (two); and Fox, MSNBC, AMC and ESPN (one
each).
