Q: I've always enjoyed Tyne Daly's work, but I haven't seen her much lately. Is she still acting?
A: Absolutely. Show business runs in her family, since her father James was a star of television's
"Medical Center," and her brother Tim spent a number of years on the comedy "Wings." (Her
daughter, Kathryne Dora Brown, has also gotten into the act: She was a regular on "Promised Land" last
season.) "Cagney & Lacey" Emmy-winner Tyne is about to return to weekly work, since she'll play the
mother of Amy Brenneman in "Judging Amy."
