Judging Amy
E! Online - September 17, 1999
When single mother/hotshot lawyer Amy Brenneman returns from the big city to become a juvenile-court judge in her rural hometown and moves in with Mom, you've got three prickly generations all
living under one roof. Brenneman gives a fine performance. So does Tyne Daly as her tough mom. And Carle Warren (as Amy's child) is good, too. Trouble is, this you-can-go-home-again series
is a carbon copy of NBC's hit Providence, right down to Brenneman's cascading, Melina-like mane. With its witty dialogue and great group dynamics, this is probably the better show, but Providence
got there first.
Also starring: Dan Futterman
