S.A. loves TV's 'Amy,' 'Angel'

Divorced men and women, the White House, maladjusted high-schoolers.
These are among the themes and settings that top the most-watched list of San Antonio TV viewers this season.
Also getting a warm reception are courageous firefighters and paramedics, police detectives and lawyers, a guy trying to make it in a house full of women and a hunky vampire with a conscience
trying to battle the evils of L.A.
However, the response hasn't been exactly glowing for a couple of shows featuring telegenic twentysomethings —such as "Wasteland and "Cold Feet" — struggling with life and love.
Here are some examples, night by night, of the definite hits of the new season, according to local Nielsen ratings, shared by KMOL-TV's marketing department:
Tuesday
"Judging Amy," CBS: Wow! This new drama about a 30ish mom/judge, played by Amy Brenneman, has attracted an immediate following here. In case you haven't caught it yet, it revolves around
Amy, who, after splitting with her husband, returns home to Hartford, Conn., to become a judge and to live with her family.
The series has been a consistent No. 1 in its time slot on Tuesdays. One reason for its popularity might lie in the fact that it has multi-generational appeal, a quality sorely missing from many
of the shows this season. Tyne Daly, as Amy's mom, portrays one of the few strong mature characters of the new prime-time lineup...
